Quarantine 2020

Five months now into 2020, plans have been entirely changed and countries have been on lock down for about two months now. It forces us to come to terms with our panic, fears and the unknown. A month ago I was struggling with believing that this new way of life is our new normal. It is truly a once in a lifetime experience. From a working woman, to now a house wife, experiencing early retirement. Slowly forgetting what it is like to go out in the world worry free. If this quarentine has taught me anything is to be appreciative of the small things in life, and be thankful for whatever is happening. How often do we get a chance to spend time with our families, pets, and children? How often do we get a chance to fully dedicate our time to our hobbies?

However, the catch is, you don't have to be productive in order to feel like your disciplined with time. The world is very uncertain, and maybe not worrying about your productivity level would make your mental health better. Some days you can feel unstoppable, powerful, others you just want to binge watch movies and eat junk food all day and that is okay. Maybe being at one with your thoughts and emotions is all you need to feel connected to yourself. Away from life's distractions. Maybe that is the one silver lining to this year.

Change is not something we're used to, but it does move us from one state of mind to the other. From complaining about little things to appreciating them. I find being grateful for the blessings I have helps me adapt a positive mindset through this pandemic, and sending positive energy brings awareness to the blessings I have in my life. This too shall pass, and for the meantime, your mental health is as important as your physical health.

Stay indoors, stay inside, and stay healthy mind, body and soul.
